I've been up, down , excited, disappointed, and frustrated in the past month and it all has to do with school. Finding out that UNLV's Rad. program had a deadline of Feb 1stand racing and there to do the whole interview process started it all. I can't tell you how nerve wracking it was to do all that work in such a short amount of time. After speaking with SLCC and finding out that I'm still 2009, POSSIBLY 2008 (if I'm lucky) that's where my frustration kicks in. After going from 2011 to 2009 in one semester I thought for sure I would be starting this fall. But nooo, I'm not that lucky. So after getting a call directly from the head of the Rad. department and letting me know that I'd been accepted I was excited for this wonderful adventure to begin and to finally get my school started.
So we put our house up for sale and started looking for homes in Vegas. Realtors don't get the oint that it's "For Sale by Owner" and they called everyday sometimes 3-4 a day would call. We found a buyer, but it was dependant upon selling her house which for us would be just fine because it was Kae Loy and we weren't in a big hurry to sell. So I was prepared to help her get her house together to get it ready to sell so we could sell ours to her and we could all come out winners, because that's what Jay wants. Ha ha ha.
We had our house up for sale for just over a week when I get a call from SLCC and they tell me they have an opening for fall 2007. Talk about a kink in the plans! I was totally in the mindset of Vegas and only Vegas, now I've got this other option. I knew what was going to happen but I had to get advice from others to solidify my decision. That day I had been denied my application for "Good Neighbor" to get a lower tuition cost. So the first year of school would be over 10K and the whole two year program would be less than 8K for SLCC. So that was a big decision that was made easier by the amount of money we would save.
So now we've decided to stay, not sell the house, keep our jobs, and unfortunantly we're still getting calls from realtors about the house. So now that we're staying things have totally changed. The money situation is still the same and I'm sure it will be for a while, but money is a problem with everybody, unless you're Donald Trump or that dude that invented the internet. So in two years from now I'll be graduating and invite all of you to a party celebrating the joyous occasion. Wish me luck, I'll need it.

It's ok, Sweetie. Bald is sexy! :)
It has definitely been a roller coaster ride, but I'm glad we get to stay in our house. I know you'll do great in school, and I can't wait for you to start!
Like I told Danae, I am very glad that you two are staying and that you have gotten into the program you wanted. No more waiting and putting up with "in the meantime" measures. And as I also told Danae, I think your family may outgrow your two-bedroom condo before too many more years and then I may get another chance to buy it. You never know what the future holds.
I think this plan DOES make us all winners, because you guys get to stay home with us, which means many more nights of cards and Mah Jong and scrapbooking. Plus Kami won't lose her best friend. AND Allison is sad that you're not going down there, but her and Steve will be coming back in a year anyway!
I'm glad things worked out for you guys to stay with us! I was so sad about you leaving.
I am glad that you guys are staying too! I like having you guys around! And just think, if you guys moved down to Vega another expense for you would having to rent all the movies watch instead of coming and borrowing mine! What a waste of money that would be!! :)
